Have you ever wondered where stars come from? Japan! Where else?
Stellarator

Well maybe not the ones that are already in the sky, but if those ever burn out, Japan has it covered. The photo above is of the machine with the title ‘largest superconducting stellarator in the world’. These superconducting coils within the large helical device in Japan are used to generate magnetic fields strong enough to confine a plasma in the centre which needs to be heated to the point where a controlled nuclear fusion reaction will occur (100 million degrees).

The Great Elephant Mystery

Upon moving in to our new studio space way back when, we noticed our neighbors working on some sort of gigantic elephant for unknown purposes. After an extensive discussion as to why this man-made elephant would ever exist, it was only a few days later when we ran into our old friend and discovered what it was made for;
